Arinto - pronounced ah-rin-toe
This wine is refreshing with a brilliant light straw colour shining in the glass. it has inviting aromas of lemon curd and herbaceous Asian spices. The palate zings with freshness from a mouth-filling texture and lifted citrus and peach flavours. The finish is long and crisp with elements of lime sorbet and soft acids.
Looking for suitable white wine varieties as well as tackling Rutherglen’s changing climate, Natasha Killeen (1988, 7th Gen) researched Portuguese varieties extensively and chose three to plant in Rutherglen, Arinto, Alvarinho and Antão Vaz. The first two were planted successfully in 2015 with Antão Vaz still in the nursery, due to be planted in 2020.
A stand-out wine from our 2019 vintage, receiving Top Gold of its class at the Victorian Wines Show and 'Chief Judge's Wine to Watch' Trophy at the North East Victorian Wine Challenge.
2021 James Halliday Wine Companion - 95 Points - Gold Medal
Arinto is a high-acid Portuguese white that is quite at home in Rutherglen - it retains its acidity in warmer climes. This is super dry with lemon-lime juice mixing it with green apple, grapefruit and a sprinkling of fresh herb. Moreish and savoury.

Only a tiny amount was bottled due to low yields from a dry and challenging growing season, so originally this wine was only available to Quinta Club members. Now approaching the release of the 2020 vintage, we are opening availability to the general public.
